QuoteBe warned that Tallow stinks big time when melted.  ???
Rick, either my senses are dead or I've got non smelling tallow.  I mix the same recipe up indoors with the fan running

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the formula.  I'll be cooking outside.  I was a manager in the garbage business for over 25 years, and if an open landfill doesn't choke me, nothing will-but I'll keep the wife happy and cook outside, same as when I melt lead.  Thanks again!  Bob

Yep, to the same lovely lady for 16260 days or 44 years, 6 months, 7 days
Rick, the secret to happiness casting and making lube is: turn the exhaust system over the gas stove in the basement on to the outside.  All ingots are done outside but I don't do much of that anymore.  The inventory is1360 lbs @ last count - Bhn 5.0 to 19

My wife has a nose that will track down anything of mine.

It is funny that acetone "paint thinner" is bad but acetone "fingernail polish remover" is OK.

Plus, it seems like lubing bullets sounds like a good thing to do in the winter, where I keep the house as tight as is possible for a 120 year old run down farmhouse.

One of the reasons that I wont get any grief about dumping $500 on a Star lubing machine is that I will no longer have a need to pan lube on the wood stove in the basement.

Of course, I won't exactly mention the price tag. I'll just talk about how the pan lubing in the basement will stop.

Of course, when I mix the concoction up and pour it into stick molds I will be outside, freezing. The sticks will harden up faster out there though, increasing my pour cycle time.  A little snow and it will be even faster, and around here a few feet of snow in January/February is a sure thing.

It arrived today (they shipped it overnight).... A whole styrofoam cooler full.

It isn't pure white, but fairly close to white.

It's no where near yellow like the last batch I got from DGW.

I got the 14# of beeswax also, and I still have 40+ pounds of paraffin and 10 # of beeswax in the shed from the last time I bulk ordered.

I think I am set for a while.

Rick,
I'm glad I ordered 10 lbs right away.  It looks like they are out for the time being.  Snooze and you lose!  Thanks again for the heads up!  Bob :) :) :)

The conversations I had with "Jennifer" lead me to believe that they might get more in a couple weeks.

If anyone is looking for some, best to email them and get on their call list. They let me reserve my order before it came in and before they posted it on their web site.
