What would the harness look like on a basic vertical pouch shoulder rig for small auto pistols?

I'm getting quite a collection of the darn things and would like a sort of generic pouch...or a harness with interchangeable pouches...just for the hell of it.

Either that or a rig designed to carry eight pistols at once........naw, that's too impractical and probably would be incredibly uncomfortable.   ::)

It sort of depends - you'll see a standard pouch suspended from a standard shoulder support, and that's pretty common.

What's different is how the support strap and adjustment buckle works - and many were horizontal - being hidden by the vests that were still so common at that time, while a few others work around the neck and affix to the side of the trousers via a button.

For small pocket pistols, you'll find that leather 'pockets' were in use - fitting into the back pocket or even the front pocket.

Makers of the era were Lawrence, S.D. Myers, Bucheimer-Clark, and of course, H.H. Heiser.

I stumbled on Legends In Leather's site.  They have one that will do what I want.

Does anyone have anything to report on this company?

Looked at the site.

Never heard of them.

The shoulder rigs of the era you're looking for were fully-finished - not like the one shown for 007 - some were even floral-carved and some were skeletonized, with spring clips.

All of the ones made by those folks cited above will bring decent money - but they're worth it.

Here's a suggestion - check around and see if you know any old, retired cops from the era of the snub-nosed revolver.

Often, guys like that kept their leather.

Good Luck!

I think Legends in Leather is Jim Lockwoods site...he is one of the best for reproducing authentic hollywood rigs as well as old designs...I wish I was half as good as he is.  He is often listed in the Guns of the Old West magazine
