Thought you would like to see this old Colt and the rig I made up for it.
Will`s Dodge City pattern for the 1858 Remington 8" fits like a glove.

It belongs to a friend, but if it were mine, I don`t know how long I would own it
because I could buy at least 6 new Ruger Vaquaros with the money it would bring.
My friend has standing offers for it. ;D
This was  a fun build. Thanks Will!  ;)

VERY nice, Chuck!

Your friend has a very nice and pretty valuable gun, too.  As I'm sure he knows.  There were less than 8,000 of those Open Tops made.  I have a new one by Uberti, marked Cimarron, and it's a sweet shooter.

Your modified Slim-Jim is an excellent choice for a home for it!

Well, you could get 6 Vaqueros for it but then you'd have 6 wanna be Colt's and you would not have a Colt that likely 'saw the Elephant'.
Neat gun, you try getting a Letter on it?
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

Shotgun Franklin, I agree totally and would love to own it.
He has not lettered it but should.
Its been in his family since it was new. His grandfather carried it on the ferry boat near Seattle back in the day.
