El Peludo

That DE .50AE is mighty appealing, Miz Annie - I like the one with the tiger stripes, meself; definitely a two handed affair, IMO.  I shot a .44Mag one once, and decided that two hands were far better than one.

Say, 'Rap, logic, or sensibility ain't got nothing to do with this.  It's the grin that you can't get rid of, and the numb sting in your hand after you touch that big thing off - that's what it's all about.

Slim, that .45-70 is a hoot.  Talk about a grin!!!!!!!  As Tim the Tool Man Taylor would say:  ArrrARRRArrarrArrrr!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D

El Peludo, are you talking about one of these?

On the commute to verk this morning, it suddenly hit me:

My birthday is in a few weeks, and I haven't thought of my present to me!

A few years back, I signed for my land on my birthday.

Then one year I went to Virginia Arms and picked up my '97, '94 and first Ruger for my birthday.

But here I am, with nothing planned.

WhatamIgonnado?

I should get a generator, for times when I don't have power.

I should get a new car, or have all the gaskets replaced in mine before I have an oil spill worse than Exxon's.

But this will be for my birthday. Birthdays aren't about what you need, they are about what you WANT.

And what I WANT is this:

WhaddoIdo??

:-[   :D

AnnieLee

Got no love for the Desert Eagle. Me thinks it's one ugly gun.

But if you really want to have one, go ahead knock yourself out.  ;D

jiminy criquet

Desert Eagle's are nice, but boy have they gotten pricey since they came on the market.  Although a Desert Eagle in .357 Magnum like the original model would be perfect.
And I've always wanted to own one of the Nitro Express doubles...there's just something about them...
The .50AE by Smith is indeed impressive, but ...the Smith .44 Mag is still the benchmark for power and beauty, IMHO (and I still don't have one of those either :( ).

But, what's the one gun I really covet?  The one firearm I wish I had sitting in the vault? ....You know what I decided it would be?
The Bren Ten.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

Good point, Jiminy, we all have firearms we "crave."

What I'd really like is an operational Gatling gun. In my yard.

That's not going to happen, though. Dern it.

As far as my birthday present, I may be able to repair the oven. If so, and the replacement parts aren't too expensive, the DE AE50 is still a possibility.

Back to smiling,

:D

1873 model in .45-70 with the wooden field carriage and a limber.  Don't want the shield or the spindly-looking metal carriage.

Yep Fort Abe Lincoln, one of dem that Custer said no to.  Not a 45-70 1873 model but a damned 1865-66 model in 58 rimfire, a nasty jamming pain in the arse piece of equipment.  Custer made a few mistakes, but leavin' them pieces of junk behind was not one of them. ::) ;D

And Buck we have the largest elafunk ever found in the world at Morril Hall, often called eler-funk hall.  They are supposed to be gone a few thousand years, but what if there are still some up on the Dismal? ;D ;D ;D

They ain't had to shoot one of them fellars for several years. ;D  Did you know the N on their Hel-muts and on the stadium stands fer Nowledge? ;D ;D ::)

Well wish me luck I'm 'bout ready to shower and get ready for a couple hous of verk. :) :)  Going to do a full day on Sat.

Del, they found one of those elefunks here in Canton back in the '70's. Found when digging a foundation for an apartment building my uncle was in charge of. Have some pics someplace that I got to take before the academic types got there. It's on display at the McKinley Presidential Library/Museum up in town now. Believe it was a mammouth..........Buck 8) ::) :o ;)

It's been said by Navajo and Papago of my acquaintance that "our fathers', fathers', fathers hunted the long noses on the prairies and in the land of the stinking water."

Could be they're more recent than we believe.

Now, I've seen the elephant, but that's a whole nuther story.

Dunno.

Want to ask next time I'm in town?
