With the Uberti nipples? Or should I change out the nipples to something else?

Anyone have any advice for optimal performance? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

I've been using Rem #10's with the org nipples on my Uberti 2nd Mod Dragoon since I purchased it in 12/06 with no problems. In fact I use the Rem 10's on all my c&b's. I tried some CCI 10's once, to tight. All they fit was a Uberti '51 Navy 36 cal. Recently I bought a tin of CCI 11's and have only tried them on the Dragoon. They worked fine. If you read Mako's fine work and some of the other contributions on the difference between brands and sizes you will see that the major diff between Rem 10's and CCI 11's is the external height. The internal diameter is the same and that counts most in gripping the nipple. There can be a difference in the ability of a cap to grip a nipple between current and past nipples used on makers of Italian c&b's. Can't say if they have and currently get them from a single maker. Basicly it involves the geometry of the nipple, ie the angle from the top to the bottom, toss in the height, which determines the desending width of the nipple---all above my pay grade! Tresco nipples from what I've read were designed to use #11's, possibly a CCI, which being CCI #11's and Rem #10's share the same internal's would be why those that have Tresco's say Rem 10's work. I have a spare cylinder for a Pietta 51' Navy, 44 cal, and the Rem 10's work fine. Buy a tin of each and see what works, then buy them in quanity if that works for you. Check out Bottom Dealin Mike's question on the 'Dark Side' ref 'Are my nipples's shrinkin?' and read some of the replies and check out Mako's 'high tech' "8x10 glossy pictures with circles and arrows" (can't say if there's writing on the back)!  Crow Choker

Range report: Fired 22 shots today.

12 at 15 yards, about 6" high.

10 at 25 yards, at least 12" high.

Remington #10's worked superbly! Thanks all! Now to sight it in. What range was it sighted to be dead on? I am thinking that these were made to shoot at the belt buckle up close and more directly at farther range.

Wahkah: That's exactly what I have come to expect with most of the Colts -- about a foot high at 25 yards. How were your groups? My Uberti Second Model Dragoon should be here this week.
