I'm betting that Trap, Books, Windy City Joe, and probably a few others, are late to the party.

I really wish I could make this event, but we are getting ready for the NCOWS SW Regional/Joe Berger Memorial at Greenville and this weekend is our last work day before the event.

I'll be there; I just have not put my money in the envelope, yet.  (I'm waiting for pay day.)

Trap has had expenses and he is going to make me do algebra to figure whether the envelope owes him or he owes the envelope.
It is always interesting running a match.

I wish I could have attended, but I guess this years muster was never to be. I did end up with the time off, started FMLA care giver on 9/24, my mother passed on 10/2. So even if granted the time off, I would have canceled the trip.

Brian, I am sorry to hear your sad news. At least you were able to get FMLA and be a blessing during your Mom's final days.

Only time will help lessen the loss, and your Mom's spirit will always be there.

Jerry, Your pictures are inspiring to me. The level of detail and authenticity is wonderful. I love the big floppy '72 hat. It is spectacular! You don't see those too often. I've thought about getting one of those and the 1872 pleated blouse. Man that would be a goofy uniform. Very specific to a short period of time. Put on a Palmer brace system an you could have the most unpopular uniform of all time!

Thanks HS
I've spent nearly 20 years researching the men and equipment at Fort Hartsuff. (One of my jobs there when I worked there was teaching guests about the men, material, and equipment of the time) I don't have the '72 blouse, but have been considering having one made. I do have a plamer brace though. I wore it with my dress uniform Saturday night. When you come out next summer I can drag all my stuff out again and let you look at it all if you want.

I would very much like to see the '72 gear next summer.
Do you know a source for the pleated blouse? how about the '72 hat?

I just got to see the pix today (Thanks Windy City Joe!!!) Wow, I really didn't realize that d***ed blouse shrunk so bad in the closet.  :-\

Actually the only M-'72 equipment I have is the campaign hat and the shoes. (The boots I'm wearing with the field uniform are the M-1876) Most of my uniform and equipment is M-1874

The only museum quality repro of the M-1872 blouse was Connie Lindmeier from South Pass WY., but to the best of my knowledge she has ended production. The Quartemaster Shop (and others) do make a copy, you even see one on e-bay once in a while.

I think I need to start looking.

I have most of the hardware here for the Palmer brace system. I thought I might cast up a few sets of the brasses.
