Howdy pards.
I've made a holster and stitch it up on my singer. But I dont like the marks on the back of the holster (the are less when I wet mould it) Its not easy to use the machine, but quicker, have to practis with it.
Will show the finich holster when I've applyed the top cote.

Those marks are made by the lower feed dog...you will not get rid of them unless you change the feed dog to one without the serrations...or switch to an open arm machine with(or without) a smooth feed dog....nature of the beast

My machine is a Ferdco Pro-2000 which is basically the same as the Cobra class 4 (they are copies of the Juki 441).  I have a holster plate however I have not had the occasion to use it yet.  You will like the Cobra...they are good machines...

BB, how thisk is the leather along the main seam?  I think I am seeing a few  spots where the bobben thread is pulling the top thread through on the back side photo?  This particular tension adjustment has always given me fits and particularly as the leather gets thinner.  I think you will find that the white thread is the starkest thread we can use for machine sewing and seems to show anything that is less than perfection.   I avoid the use of white thread like a plague, YMMV though.

Boothill Bob

Slowhand, the leather is 7mm at the main seam, I notis that the bobbin tread was pulling the top tread down after I was finich  :-\
But my bobbin case is broken so I have a special solution for it, unfortunately I can not get hold of a new bobbin case, have called and e-maild everyone with no luck  :'(

Here is the holster... I dyed the tread, think it looks better. When I got the pattern from Skeeter it was made for a 7½ inch colt, so I took the toe from Will´s West Texas holster and made it for a 5½..

I have the Cobra 4 and I haven't needed to order the holster plate because the plate that came with it does a great job on holsters.

KidTerico

BB looks like a darn nice job. KT
Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Boothill Bob

Thank-you  slohand and KT. Its just a test for som holsters that I'm making for a customer in UK.

Looks good, Bob. I hand stitch all mine...can't afford a machine, lol. I tried a couple of lighter machines, a Singer and a heavier duty White. Had too much trouble getting the tension right, so I just went back to hand stitching.
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.

Drayton,

did you read the response that I made to Bugscuffle on his inquiry on sewing machines?
