QUESTION: I read somewhere in one of the other forums that the Alchimista SAA from EMF was voted out as a legal  firearm for NCOWS. Does this apply as well to the EMF Great Western II SAAs in general? I'm thinking about buying one of the latter pistols but I read that the sights are different than original Colts of the late 1800s. Does this constitute a sight modification that is disallowed? (I understand that the Alchimista has additional modifications.) Thanks for any clarification.

The Great Western II is NCOWS legal as long as you stay with the standard Blue/Case hardened frame with steel back strap and trigger guard or the Polished Stainless Steel version.  The Alchemista is not legal because of the 1860 Army Grip.  The birdshead gripped pistols are not legal either.
