Just posting a couple of recently finished California style pieces for a good customer in SC. These are for a pair of R-M 1860 conversions.
These were finished in a slightly antiqued manner (an occasional blemish, smudge , streak etc.) to approximate the look of the used belt I was trying to match.

11/17/11      Well, Village Photos appears to still be crapped out, so I'm gonna try attaching the pix directly as soon as I get home.
Stay tuned....

Got 'em.

This customer will be very right proud of them.  Gorgeous.

Dave, those are fabulous.  Exactly my style.  Just finished tonight a buscadero rig (which is not my style) for my daughter to use when cowboy action shooting.  We are a three generation CAS shooting family.  My grandson started a couple of years ago and my daughter started this past summer.  Will take some photos of the new rig this weekend to post.

Excellent work Dave!
What did you use to put the cross hatch lines in? Many thanks for sharing this with us.

Thanks, pards.

The color turned out to be a mixture of Fiebing's Light Tan, British Tan and Dark Brown. As I mentioned, I was trying to match my customer's (Okefinokee Outlaw) existing belt from another maker.  Kind of a tough job. Then "antiqued".

Johnny: The crosshatch, believe it or not, is spaced using an old newspaper tool called a "pica pull" or "pica pole"  depending on your locale (it's actualy just a kind of narrow aluminum ruler). The lines were made in the damp leather with the "pointy" end  ;) of an old, medium dull, large harness needle. It makes a nice deep impression without actually cutting the leather.

Thanks Dave. The Cross Hatching gives the Holster a real distinctive and classic look. I'm going to have to try this.

Absolutely beautiful! Clean and classy!
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.

Yeah, I like 'em, too. The crosshatch is classy.

Thanks for the kind words.

You're right. Don't know what's happened to the photos. I'm wondering if the website where they're hosted is having problems. I'll check into it. Thanks for the heads up.
