Strong Side.......Weak Side.....?????

I keep seeing references to someone's "strong side", or "weak side" and I'm at a loss to understand this.  What does this mean?  I don't know that I have either?  So...could someone 'splain this to me? Thanks!

Good question pard.  I was wondrin' the same thing myself.  Someone says they wear two strong side holsters sounds ta me like they're wearin' a pair of pistols, both on their right hip (if'n they're right handed)!  I'm with you in needin' some 'splainin' done.

I might have accidently used the term 2 strong side holsters myself, but....

In terms of holsters, we are normally talking about either straight holsters or cross draw holsters.

A strong side holster is a straight holster either on your left or right side depending in which is your strong hand (left or right handed).

I kinda get the feeling here that if a shooter is right handed...his right side would be his strong side and he would shoot best right handed.  Vice versa for a lefty.  I shoot well with either hand and and I can't figure out which is my strong side.  Maybe I don't have a strong side??

Yah... we got some pards around here that shoot pistols left handed and rifle right handed.  I always tell 'em I don't know how they manage to even get to the match.

Howdy......
I shoot duelist (right handed) I have a 'crossdraw' holster on my left side (weak side??) I draw it first with my right hand,shoot,reholster all with my right hand (strong side) then I drraw my right hand gun (strong side???) with my right hand (strong side??  )

I currently have a Left hand strong side, with a crossdraw on right side. I also have a duke rig that is both right/left strongside. I grew up thinkin i was right handed. (Gramma and the nuns made me do it.) then about 10 years ago i found out I was really lefty. So now primarily shoot lefty. But I eat and write right handed (but none too neatly...)
