The last post on this thread is from November... has anyone heard how he is doing in the New Year?
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

I talked to David yesterday and he seemed to be doing well.  He is lurking on here some and probably will give us an up date when he feels up to it.

That is great news!

I just sent him an email on his commercial webstie that he could use this like his personal blog and get the word out rather than having to answer everyone ... and on bad weeks he could assign someone to do it for him ... that way we would not have to bother him on less-than-good-days ......

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and concerns.  The bone marrow transplant in November went well.  I am 50 days post transplant.  I am back in the hospital with minor setback.  I hope to be home in February.  May you be blessed this new year.

God be with Dave!

I was on many prayer lists when I was diagnosed and had an annointing and laying on of hands. People were praying on my behalf from the NWTs to Texas. Anyone who disses this has not YET faced dealing with the 'Big C'.

One in four of us will, eventually. Think of that next time you're in a group setting.

Just thought I would give everyone a quick update. Last bone marrow biopsy showed NO cancer cells! Praise the lord. I am suppoed to stay in St. Louis for 100 days post transplant. I am on day 61 now. As I get my strength back I will be able to travel home for the weekends, but that is a 5 1/2 hour trip. But a little taste of home can't be bad. As far as my blood work, it all looks good. Feeling better all the time.
On another note, while I'm here in St. Louis, I visited Hermann Oak Leather yesterday. Simply amazing the amount of leather. Very nice people. There goes all my money!
Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!

Great news Dave!
Keep on pluggin away at it.   I used to live in St. Louis, lots to do if you can get out and about.  Top notch Zoo, great botanical gardens, neither are too far from the hospitol complex.   Are you at Barnes/Washington University?  My sister was a Radiation Docimitrist there up until early 90s.

Folks, I really encourage everyone to get their bone marrow tested for the donor list.   Doesn't take that much time and can really make a difference.
