What undecipherable heiroglyphic are you talking about?

We either leave them plain
engrave them to match the rest of the engraving
Or engrave them with the the Navel Battle Scene (Better than the versions the Italians do)
All to the customers specification.

Our cylinders are made in house to original specification.

Hey, FCK how come there is always a little dig in your posts? I don't remember ever tring to intentionaly piss you off.

You have stated in the past that you do NOT have a roll engraving machine before. So, please share who did this.

Also, ethically I think it is wrong to shill for a company that one represents as a free form of advertising. No other gun boards I frequent allow it. Now you know why.

Then why don't you just stay on those other boards?

Raven,

I, for one, appreciate all the information and support that you give to these forums.  I look forward to the new projects,
like the Pea Eye conversion from Lonesome Dove.  I would like more information on it.

We have them hand engraved, My engraver is busy enough so I don't share....Tough luck!
Besides what difference does it make if the are Roll Engraved, Hand Engraved or Not Engraved......I have NEVER represented them as anything other than what they are.

I do not advertize....I answer the questions people ask other wise We would be left with the crappy advice that some people give.
and I show pictures of Custom pieces that I do. I don't give prices unless asked.
Occasionaly I offer a personal project for sale.

From your DIGS and the latest post it is clear that you question my integrity and my ethics....Your the one itching to start a fight. If you had any integrity or ethics you wouldn't be doing this, you could have started with a PM with SUGGESTIONS for how I might do things better. Since you are doing this in public I will respond in public as well instead of with a PM

I didn't start this with you. I figure your problem with myself and Hoof Hearted and Coiffin Maker is jelousy.....Probably due to the fact that you are uncapable of doing what we do............Get Over It.

Untill they change the rules on this forum KMA.

Don't forget AR-15 forum. The "magazine" forum is dominated by the folks at a certain company who frequently bully anyone with a differing opinion. I haven't seen those attitudes on CAS-L.....and as long as I don't, I'll continue to participate.

PS: I dropped AR-15.com since I obviously don't have anything to contribute there.  ;)

All I can say, Raven, is please continue to post away.  I appreciate seeing and reading about your work.  As you may know, Hoof Hearted did two Walker conversions for me.  Knowing that he is now doing much of your install work only makes me think more highly of your operation.  You guys are top quality all the way.  Thanks for being a sharing part of our community.

Another opinion .... for what it's worth ....

Somehow I don't think that posting pics of quality custom work from a small shop is in the same vein as if a large commercial operation was advertising their wares.
I LOVE to see the artistry in work well executed, offering what the mass produced clones cannot hope to equal. That said, it has to be admitted that the level of workmanship on Italian repros in general is a LOT better than what I remember way back when.

When the public votes with their dollars, those that want to stay in the game ante up; others fold.

Those of us in 'the great unwashed' that have to do with what the suppliers are offering need something to aspire to. It's like walking thru' the cars at a high end auto show.

Speaking of that, on one of my forays thru' Big Timber, I stopped at the Shiloh shop. I had just toured every museum along the way and saw several original Sharps rifles. This was before it was financially possible for me to own one. I was looking at the display models on the wall and was invited to handle any I wanted to. I declined, as it would have broken my heart.
I was also asked what gun I would like to leave with. Without hesitation, I walked up to the 'Business Rifle' with 28" RB in 45-70. I was told that was the first time anyone had done that and when asked 'Why?', I said - "Because it looks like the rifle of a buffler hunter."
Two years later, I made a swap with a fellow and got my first Shiloh rifle - a Farmingdale 45-70 BR in 45-70! Others have followed. Some dreams do come true .....

PJ's Heartache - (Sorry, I couldn't resist  ;) )

You're a lucky man.  I can only dream - and that's all I'll ever do.

And I agree totally about Raven's proud posts and pictures.  I don't see it as a shill effort at all.  Most who have serious intent to buy those wonderful custom guns with real money already know where to go - they don't need to see pictures here to decide to go see the Kirst/Raven/Hoofy operation to buy.

For the rest of us, I'll take the photos!  And if I EVER win the lottery ... (Oh wait - do you actually have to buy a ticket to win?)

Yep - I'm a lucky man and I knows it! Not only do I own a stable full of great guns (rifles and pistols) I have a wife with a stable of her own who enjoys shooting them.
Last year I won a battle with cancer and have vowed to live every day to the fullest, enjoy the things I've always wanted to but denied myself, and share them with others. All my toys will belong to someone else someday (as they once belonged to someone before me) and while I'm blessed with them, they shall be enjoyed and appreciated!

Life is too short to eat domestic chocolate, date ugly women or shoot ugly guns.  "I came that you might have life and life more abundantly". Amen - I gratefully acknowledge and accept.

Yes, please keep showing  us your fine work. As the guy said, it gives all something to aspire to own.

Who cares what Fox Creek Kid says?  He does this all the time.  That's his opinion, and it means less than nothing.  Just ignore him...that's what the rest of us do!  Please keep posting your fine conversions, sir!

Best Regards,
Jake

Your pictures make me drool on the key board.  Then I start thinking about what all I would have to sell to own one of your conversions.  Keep the pictures coming.

I'm won't condem FCK for his comment.....he was asked....and provided a response that I did not consider to be rude.

My apologies to all for my comments (which have now been deleted!)!  I enjoy this Forum too much to do anything that would make it less enjoyable!  Please forgive my indiscretion!

I, for one, still enjoy seeing the fine conversions from the Kirst/Strite team!

Jake

Keep up the good posts and ignore the people in the peanut gallery.

I know for a fact that Jay is not stepping out of bounds here. Those of us who have been associated with this forum for many years have offered free advise, posted pictures of projects (most being made for members here) and even supplied parts and firearms at the bequest of the members of this forum.

This forum is dedicated to the cowboy shooter and is one of the few really good sources of information available. Be careful not to tread on those who help. I remember, not too long ago that Fox Creek Kid was looking for information and a source to have a Type 1 recoil shield built to fit his Uberti Type 2 conversion. This is the very place he asked for information and many of us tryed to help him. Eventually he procured one from over seas.

It's non-productive for all of us to have insults thrown our way (even if stated as opinions). This is not the Cowboy Way and it is definately not the intent of this forum.
