Quote from: litl rooster on August 12, 2005, 09:02:28 PMAfter  I posted that I went to wildliferangers site, and found it. I have to work tomorrow and will probably thru late November here out.  Thanks for posting iit though.

I hope we can still see you at the next Pepper Mill Creek Gang shoot at NVGC on 8/28 since you had fun at the July shoot.

QuoteI had an Ideal for a stage  involving a poker or Faro table. After the last shoot some were whining about sitting down to start the stage. So I am not sure it would work.

This month's stages will be a lot simpler (maybe too simple).  We  have started stages seated before and there is no reason why we can't.  There were too may nay-sayers at our last match.  We are working on improving that situation.  As you have seen in other posts here, most shooters like a variety and something to spice it up and make it interesting.  That's what keeps thier interest.  You don't want it too simple or difficult.

Y'all don't mind me.  Ya see, I started werkin' in the yard yesterdee 'n it ain't my favorite thing ta do.  So, I stay out in the heat a l'il while then come in ta cool down.  Gettin' too old fer this stuff 'n got a real bad attitude towards it.

Had ta shoot a stage awhile back.  Don't remember the round count.  Ya wus in yer cabin 'n the outlaws wuz comin' ta steal yer hoss.  They weren't gonna leave no witnesses.  The prop wuz a winder.  There wuz one target downrange, that wuz the hoss.  The deal wuz you were in the dark 'n ya wuz gonna spray 'n pray thru the winder hopin' ta hit the bad guys.  Hittin' the hoss, once or fifty times, was a P.

Ennyways, I wuz runnin' the posse.  I ain't 'sackly right 'n I hang 'round with most the folks whut was on that posse.  They ain't 'sackly right neither.  Well sir 'n Ma'ams.  A few of us figgered if we shot the freakin' hoss, the outlaws wouldn't have nuttin' ta steal 'n they'd go away.  Weren't much of a hoss ta start with.  So, we took the P 'n blasted the hell outtah that damned target.

We were in the middle of the stage 'n I look up ta see the Posse Marshal from the other posse.  He says, 'Arcey, kin I talk ta ya a minute?'

'Why sher, Doc.  Whut's up?'

'Yanno', he sez, 'the way we read that stage, we didn't think we were supposed ta shoot that target.'

Ta this day I get outtah breath laffin' when that comes ta mind.

All I did was name it 'n get it started. The posse made it great. A debt I can never repay. Thank you, mi amigos.

Arcey's post. It was worth the P ;D I would have enjoyed that. ;D

Sod Buster I intend on coming to next shoot at Pepper Mill but I am not sure sounded as if there was no shoot for August there????? Montana said she would like to give it a go  also. If i can help with props there let me know been collecting cowboy goodies for years, could use some work out of them.

Now, y'know I have been reading this thread for a coupla days now, wondering why nobody has mentioned Larry, Moe, Curly, Shemp, or Curly Joe.

I finally looked at the title again after cleaning my monitor, and realize it says Stages.

As Mrs. Latela would have said, "Never mind...."

I've lost a lot over the years--short term memory, hair, money--but I can still do that Curley two-handed finger popping thing.
