I had a mould made for me to fill a niche. It is a 140 grain bullet that will work in BP guns due to the larger lube groove size. I'm not gonna call it a Big Lube bullet as it isn't
as large a groove as most of the Big Lube designs out there, but it holds plenty, about the same as the Snakebite. It will work for those guys who want to use .357 brass but the Snakebite is too long,  or for those who needed more weight than the regular 38Slim Big Lube bullet. They are now available from my website at www.whyteleatherworks.com

Slim,
Are there other molds like it available?  Double cav or 6 cav?

Go to www.accuratemolds.com  and take a look. He does 1,2 ,3 and 4 cavity moulds. Mine is the first one like this, called the 36-140c mould in his catalog.  He also does brass moulds.

Wish I had known about it before I bought a 4 cav Lyman 158gr RNFB and a 6 cav 158gr RNTL for CAS. Both shoot & feed fine with 777 but not enough lube for BP. The Snakebite bullet did not feed reliably in my two Rossi 357s so I couldn't use it. I'm thinking of getting the 36-14- C for revolvers although I shoot  cap & ball 99% of the time.

Slim;

What diameter are they dropping from the mould?  This looks like a great .38 S&W bullet, but .357" is too small in diameter.  .360-.361" would be terrific.

They drop at .360. I use the smaller 110 gran 38Slim bullet in my pockets just to make it easier on the gun 'cause they are older guns, but these would work fine also.

I have the RCBS 38-140-CM, and it is very near this new mold.  It doesn't carry quite as much lube, but with my guns which have barrels in good condition they are satisfactory.  I use them in .357, 38Spl, 38 S&W, and 9mm Luger.  For the first three I have a sizer I had honed out to .360, and use it that way for all of them.  For 9mm I have to use the .356 sizer to avoid having a ring around the case at the bullet base.  I never expect a lube problem in pistols, but even in my Uberti '66 clone I have never run out of lube.

Slim;  Your new bullet which looks like a winner, is meant for .357 - .360 barrels.  What if the front half were to be increased to .375?  Mako tried to make a Cap&ball slug of this weight but came up short on getting it to load with the frame mounted rammer.  Just a thought, and not meant to distract from your launch of this good looking design.

Sir Charles: Well, I don't own any 36 caliber C&B guns and I have never had anyone ask me for bullets or balls for 36 caliber guns so I don't see any reason for me to have one made. Plus I think DD is coming out with a smaller EPP-UG for anyone who shoots these smaller caliber guns.

If anyone else needs a C&B bullet like the one mentioned I'm sure Tom@accuratemolds can do one up for you. He does great work.
