Jeff:
I think the Wild Rag comes from the modern day Cowboys/Buccaroos that work up in the Great Basin area (Nevada/Washington/Idaho).  The best part of W & R is they have a pretty wide selection of ready made womens clothes and as you said a big selection.

Anyone with CD's of time appropriate or anything else you wish to dance to, bring them along.  We will have a CD player and the floor will be ready.   See you next week.   JIM

I forgot to put one additional item on the Convention Agenda.  Many of you have met Peevine and Charlie and know what gamesters they are.  Immediately after the Ladies Tea on Saturday, we will be holding the PEEVINE AND CHARLIE INVITATIONAL POKER TOURNAMENT.  Each entrant will pay $10 for one hundred dollars worth of chips.  At the end of the designated time, the one with the most chips will be declared the winner.  They will be given a trophy and the money will go to NCOWS.  See you there.   JIM

As JD said, we will have scrimshaw artist at the convention. Richard "HutcH" Hutchings is very good. If you have a knife handle or pistol grips of bone, ivory or horn and have ever considered getting some scrimshaw art on them, talk to Hutch. You can see examples of his work at www.scrimbyhutch.com

Can we carry dummy rounds in our gunbelt?

It would be better if you did not.

But I'm NOT the final judge of this kind of thing ...

I wouldn't think that it would not be a problem as long as you don't leave the Convention premises.

How would one be able to tell a dummy round from a live round?

My personal opinion: We are going to have a lot of guns being handled, shown around, traded, and admired. We are going to be open to the public. I prefer NO chance of a live round ending up in one of those guns on the convention floor. I would prefer not to have cartidge belts loaded even with dummy rounds. I know we all like the look but eliminate the chance that a live one got mixed into the bunch.

I almost always have rounds (usually dummy ones that I have the primers marked on) in belts and nobody has ever said anything at gun shows. I've seen many others do it too. They usually ask no loose ammo but not sure that means a belt since no one seems to care. I guess they pretty much figure it's common sense, if someone was wanting to do something bad they could pull a cartridge from a pocket or out of a box of ammo just as easy. It's usually not the things you can see that you worry about.

Guns are checked and zip tied at the door to assure no one accidentally has one loaded and all vendors are required to check and tie their guns. No one is to stick a cartridge in a gun whether it's a dummy round or not.

You can also make dummy rounds by seating a bullet in a spent case without knocking out the spent primer or just leave out the primer. This way it's pretty obvious it's not live upon inspection.

Once you leave the convention? Kentucky is open carry state, once you leave the show you could load up as far as the law is concerned. I've heard of it but I have never once had anyone say anything about me open carrying a weapon. You don't see it as much as you used too though, before concealed carry laws open carry was the only way we could carry legal in Kentucky. Plus the area I live in is not as rural as it once was :( You always take the risk of a soccer mom freaking out :o
