Then I'll put some primer-less rounds in my belt.  If it's a problem, I'll remove them.

I might keep one live round in my pocket just in case Cliff tries to hold me up on a new holster I'm going to order.... CC  ;D ;D

As Cliff has posted there are several ways of making it obvious that rounds are dummies. It shouldn't be a problem to tell.
NCOWS Bylaws also require that NO LIVE ROUNDS be anywhere on the person at any re-enactment event. While the Convention may not technically be a re-enactmnent in the traditional sense, the rule on live ammo certainly applies.

We all want and need safety to be first and foremost, but with proper procedures in place, this issue shouldn't present a problem.

I almost always have rounds (usually dummy ones that I have the primers marked on) in belts and nobody has ever said anything at gun shows. I've seen many others do it too. They usually ask no loose ammo but not sure that means a belt since no one seems to care. I guess they pretty much figure it's common sense, if someone was wanting to do something bad they could pull a cartridge from a pocket or out of a box of ammo just as easy. It's usually not the things you can see that you worry about.

Guns are checked and zip tied at the door to assure no one accidentally has one loaded and all vendors are required to check and tie their guns. No one is to stick a cartridge in a gun whether it's a dummy round or not.

You can also make dummy rounds by seating a bullet in a spent case without knocking out the spent primer or just leave out the primer. This way it's pretty obvious it's not live upon inspection.

Once you leave the convention? Kentucky is open carry state, once you leave the show you could load up as far as the law is concerned. I've heard of it but I have never once had anyone say anything about me open carrying a weapon. You don't see it as much as you used too though, before concealed carry laws open carry was the only way we could carry legal in Kentucky. Plus the area I live in is not as rural as it once was :( You always take the risk of a soccer mom freaking out :o

I actually keep dummy rounds in my gun belt and mine have no primers at all in them.

I left D/W about noon today and arrived at Louisville Airport about 2 hours later. Bushwacker picked me up at the airport and drove me out the Sleep Inn in Shepardsville. I have settled in my room and have met a few old friends already here. I am anxious to meet new ones. I look forward to spending 3 days here in beautiful Ky.

Major 2

Made it.... 13 hours 15 minute w/  sand box breaks "several !" ...
and then there was Capt. Johns Detour in Atlanta and headed us to Colombia S.Carolina...
after several "Ummm ! we need to turn around... you're on I-85 East not I-75 West " we were back on track.

In his Defense he's only driven though Atlanta 100 times and that will confuse anybody, and the fact Dakota Ike and I were not paying attention at all ...

A little weather, a touch of hail, some rain..and here we are...arrived @ 5:15 Eastern.

We are about to sit around and sip some spirits in short short with good friends...

I had supper last night with Major 2 and the guys from Florida. I didn't get much sleep last night due to the thunderstorms. It's supposed to rain here all weekend. I put a pot on and it is ready to drink.
