I am going to try to ask my questions a different way to see if I get an answer, although I am chuckling about the one response I got.   ;D

Buscadero Question.  I am making a buscadero rig for my daughter who is getting into cowboy action shooting.  I am using Will Ghormley's pattern with a few modifications (e.g., belt will buckle in the back).  I think we are in good shape on everything except the following:  A buscadero holster attaches to the gun belt through a slot in the gunbelt.  It is unclear to me exactly how the holster is secured once through the slot.  Do folks simply slide the skirt through the slot in the belt and then the holster through the loop(s) in the skirt or is there more that needs to be done to secure?  If so, what?

Dilution Question.  I have searched the forum and want to confirm that Fiebing's Professsional Oil Dye and Fiebing's Leather Dye can both be diluted with rubbing alcohol and that gum trag and bag/tan kote can be diluted with distilled water.  Am I right or do I need to be using something else for either or both?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not clear about this (no doubt my fault) Did you get your questions answered? It sounds like you did though I don't see the answers. Maybe you had a chat with KT, who could answer all of them clearly, a good man to check with.

JD, yes.  At least I think so.  I understand from the responses that I am correct that the buscadero, if you want to be able to remove the holster, it is simply a matter of inserting the skirt through the slot and then the holster through the loop or loops in the skirt.  If you have other thoughts, I would love to hear them.

On the dilution question, I understand that I stated correctly that rubbing alcohol works for diluting the two dyes I mentioned and that distilled water is good for Tan/Bag Kote.  Again, if you have other thoughts, I would love to hear them.  Just trying to prevent mistakes, if I can.

Thanks
