Sarge,

Wow, I'm not sure whaat to say. My first thought is everyone ok?  What happened?  Ya'll put on a great muster last year and it was looking like I was going to make it again. Sure will  miss visiting Agarita Ranch again.  Let us know if you need anything.

:o OH NO! What happened?  :o

It's too late for me to host another Muster this year besides the one next week. There's still room for a few shooters next week. I guess we could call the Department Muster the Grand Muster...

I sure hope everything is all right. (Health, politics or money - it's one of the three, or a bit of all of them, perhaps.)

I know it was not an easy decision and understand your expression of regret.

To All GAF Members

The main reason we can't host the GM is due to health reasons with my family, Capt Macks family, as well as the owner, Delta Raiders family which lead to not having anyone able to provide meals.  It was a hard decision to make but Scooter can not run it by himself as he has been at the hospital more this year than just doing volunteer work.   I'm sorry for any inconvience that we have caused anyone.

Texas Sarge,
could I suggest breaking this out of the interior of this thread and posting as a separate Topic stickied right below or above the current Grand Muster thread?

I would like to commend Sgt Maj Texas Sarge and all those who help plan and work on putting on the 2011 Grand Muster.  That shows a great deal of spirit and dedication to the GAF.  But, as I've always stated, family and health come first.

I, too, am disappointed that we probably won't have a Grand Muster this year as I was planning on driving out to it.  However, I'd rather not have a Grand Muster than one that was poorly laid on due to lack of time or having to hold it at less than adequate facilities.

Instead, this is an excellent opportunity for the Departments to hold a Department Muster (we can't let the Department of the Missouri have all the fun all the time!)

We'll settle for SOME of the fun all of the time!

I've had some folks inquire about the possiblity of their club hosting it but they needed to check with "the powers that be" first.

Until then you Texas folks take care of family and don't worry bout the GM. We'll figure something out, ...or we won't. Either way family comes first.

In the mean time if you wanted to do some GAF shooting and were planning going to Texas instead of Nebraska, but have some time to travel next weekend we still have some open slots. I know it 'd be last minute but we'll sure try to work with you.

Despite the title of this thread there is still the possiblibity that the Grand Muster could be just moved to another site. Persons/clubs interested in hosting the GM should contact General Scout or myself. This would be very short notice to be able to host the GM so interested parties should have some expirience hosting major matches.

Doggone it!  My internet crashs for 2 weeks, and this is what happens!  My condolances for all those in Texas, it was a great location and I had looked forward to traveling there again this fall.

Uh, hope I was'nt misinterpreted!  Just so frustrated to be out of the loop for that time.  I am really dissapointed to lose the Texas GM.  Great people, great location.  I wish I could do more.

There are local discussions going on, and I encourage any of you that can, to come to our muster at Hanging Tree this October.

Heck, I was looking at a piece of property last year, but it was purchased before I could move on it.

In light of the recent developements in Texas, Lt. Col. Windy City Joe has gratiously offered to host the 2011 Grand Muster Oct. 28-30 at Garnett KS. I'll leave it to him to supply the rest of the details.

I  missed the "NOT!" in the title of this thread 4 times! You Offy-Sirs can be somewhat cryptic ;D

Just called Windy City Joe and he patiently and graciously answered all my questions (Thanks Col.) and I'll be there unless some catastrophic event rears it's head.

And I'm keepin' track of my score this year ;)

River City John

Good news, Charles Isaac!

And all the other Krag shooters are holding their heads in dismay . . .

Friend of mine says I should run the M1884 .45 Govt Springfield this year. Got some Colts that go with it-might be good to mix things up a little!
