Nice. Well, I can't determine cal. from the photos. I hope & pray it's 44-40. If not, we can't be friends, BDM.  ;D :D ;)

It is in .45 Colt.

I plan for it to be the centerpiece in an "Guns of the Old West" article about the guns and cartridges of 1873:

SAA/.45 Colt
1873 Win/ .44-40
1873 Springfield/ .45-70

It's absolutely beautiful but I'm afraid I'll have to worship from afar. One more gun this year and the BATFE is going to start camping on my lawn with tear gas tanks and loudspeakers.  ::)

It's a handsome gun and in the "correct" barrel length to boot.  I was just ribbing the Kid.
