NC just passed a law raising the legal limit of alcohol in beer from 6% to 15%.  This means that we will finally be able to get some of the better imports in.

What's your favorite beer?

I like Harps which falls under the old legal limit.

I really like McEwans Scottish Ale.  There's another really dark beer that I liked when I tried it but I can't remember what it was now.

To make a long story short....I refuse to drink Budweiser and Carona.  Those are rookey beers.  Beers for those who haven't discovered beer yet..  Any beer from a micro brewery will do for me.  Alasakn Amber, Anchor Steam, Black Butte Porter. Moose Drool (Yes! there really is a beer called Moose Drool...from Big Sky Brewing in Montana).  I also like Haystack Black, Henrys Classic, and anything from Sam Adams.

I absolutely refuse to drink Budweiser, Coors, Miller and Carona!  Those aren't beers.

There used to be a micro-brewery in Nashville.  They made one beer that was soo dark that it looked like coffee.  It was pretty nasty.

Liquid bread, is how I think of beer. If'n there's not enough color for your kidneys to change while they're processin' it, best throw it up against the wall in the first place.  :o

I swore off Sam Adams a few years back, though. They were sponsorin' some kind of contest that required entrants to have sex in a public place, the prize awarded to the most daring. That's a bit too edgy for my taste.

Are we thinking about the same radio show, where Opie and Anthony got fired over the couple having sex in St. Peters in New York? If I recall correctly, Sam Adams was an advertiser with Infinity Broadcasting, who hosted the O&A show, but were not specific sponsers of that segment.

But back to beer...

Living in Germany ruined me for American beer, including most micro-brews. I liked the German wheat beer, and a lot of their darks (bock) were smooth. But German Pilsner beer has, to me, a bite or bitter after-taste. Most American beers are either too weak or are made using the Pilsner recipe as a base. Most of the micro-breweries' beer has that same bite.

I've been considering making my own beer. But a batch yields about 40 bottles, and I just don't see myself drinking enough beer to make it worth my time.

I like what I brew for myself best! :D  But it is a fair amount of work.

Next in line is a number of micro brews and there are several fine establishments around my parts of the woods.  It's best to get them locally as they don't travel well and you have to pasturize them to ship out of state.  So please support your local brewer!!! :D :D

I like most Mexican beers.  Funny thing is, most of the Mexican breweries were started and ran by German immigrants to Mexico :D  One of my favorites is Negro Meddela.  It is a Viennese style ale, very smooth and very tasty.

And I drink American pilsners too on hot summer days.  They aren't big beers but when its 90+ I don't really want something heavy anyway.  I love Diversity when it comes to beers and ales!!!  Yeeee Hawwww!!!!

Anchor Steam and some of the Sam Adams types. Believe the one of those was a Honey Lager.Out of the small stateside brewers, I like Leinenkugel( SP), the Honeyweiss comes to mind..........Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Myself.....I prefer dark beer.  The darker...the better!  I like Black Butte Porter.  You pour that in a glass and it looks like a glass of motor oil.

A lotta people don't know this, but "ice cold" is not the way to drink beer.  The proper temperature for the consumption of beer is 51 degrees.  This temperature brings out the best flavor.  So all you rookey beer drinkers can howl and growl about "ice cold" beer.  I'll take mine at 51 degrees with a slice of Lime.

On a hot day when I'm working outside it's either Busch or Michelob.  I don't like light beers though and I do want them ice cold.

Start getting into some of the imports and they are so filling that one is about my limit.

We have also our own beers, made in Spain. We have light, strong, and very strong beers, with a high level of alcohol. I drink normaly beers with a strong taste, :P but in these days I prefer drink light, as the mexican "Coronita".  :D :D
