Can anyone e-mail me or post a picture of a Bakail Russian shotgun with the long barrels ? 28" or so ? I'd really like to see what one looks like.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as a Baikal shotgun anymore.  Last I heard they'd been bought out by Remington.  The guns are still around, but they're called Spartan now.

I think.

Here's what a long-tube Bakail would look like:

"Get it together?  Lady, last time my people got it together we needed most of Robert Lee's backyard to bury the evidence."

Hmmmm. I didn't know that. Tks Dillo.

No problem.   ;D

I've handled one in the local shop.  The diifferences between the Baikal and Remingtons are only skin-deep.  The guns are still manufactured in Russia and imported, now by Remington.  In fact, the guns are still stamped IZH (visible when broken over).

If I recall correctly the forearm is slightly wider than the barrels, though not by much.  If you were to put the forearm flat across the palm of your hand you'd probably be able to curl your fingers almost all the way around.

I have a Baikal Scattergun.  It has 20 inch barrels and visable hammers that don't actually fire the shell,  It has internal hammers, but you have to cock the fake ones back to shoot it.  It weighs about 8 pounds and kicks like a mule!  I partially solved this problem.  I added about 8 ounces of #9 birdshot to the buttstock...I shoot Black Powder rounds, or trap/skeet loads and I wear a strap on recoil pad under my shirt.  Now the durned thing doesn't beat my shoulder to hamburger!  There's no chokes in the barrels either.  It's a good gun and I like it.

I've got the same one the Kid does, and does have a pretty hefty kick to it with field loads. But with the Winchester Featherlites, it ain't so bad. It is a good gun, a looker, and never had a bauble with it.
