I just stained a gunbelt for my wife with an old bottle of Febrings Cherry stain that I got from Tandy many years ago. I haven't seen it in the Tandy store anymore so I dont know if it is still made. The leather was very dry and I was going to soften it up with some oil of somekind but I was wondering if you could put sone sort of satin or glossy finish on the leather after putting some kind of oil on it to soften it.

Thanks,
God is fluxing me which is good but it is not fun.

Sure you can.  A lot of people like Fiebing's Bag Kote.  I like Tandy's Satin Shene.

The cherry stain is still made and can be ordered drectly off the Fiebings website.   I use bag kote to seal projects  gives a somewhat softer surface shine... a coat of Skidmores will do alot to soften
