Hello. I'm Tallbald from The Leather Shop. My dear wife and I are very interested in CAS, and love single actions (me particularly). Thing is, I had sold my Marlin 1894SS to a friend some years back. If this is a legal rifle I could possibly buy it back. I also need to know if my stainless Super Blackhawk is legal. My Ruger old Armies are the adjustable sight models, so I wonder if I'm out of luck with them.  Lots of questions I know, and I have indeed begun researching SASS and CAS sights, but there's just SO much neat information out there it's difficult for us to refine out the information we hope to find. Thanks everybody, Don.

Hi there Tallbald,

Yes, that rifle is very legal.  Been shooting one for 12 years in SASS.  The Ruger Old Armies can be shot in many catagories.
I've shot adjustible sighted Blackhawks for many a year even after they did away with the Modern Catagory.  The Super Blackhawk is a SA so fire away with it.  There are some firearms limitations for some catagories and not for others.  Go to the SASS website and download the Shooters' Handbook and find all kinds of ways to enjoy the sport.  Have at it and have FUN!!!
