Is there anything planned in the near future for the Department of the Pacific?  Especially the Division of the California area?

TW,
I know it'd be a trip, but if you don't find anything in CA you could come to the Department of the Missouri shoot the end of next month. You don't have to be stationed in the Dept. of MO to participate.

Col. Pitspitr, Sir:

Thank you for the invitation.  I hope someday to make that journey but I am afraid it will be at a later time.  It appears that the majority of Musters and activity corresponds to areas of NCOWS.  There is little too no NCOWS in the department of the Pacific.  I would hope this changes, but am afraid that it will not happen in my life time if at all.

Honorably Yours:  TwoWalks Baldridge, Scout.

I know the 5 Dogs folks have a number of GAF members  amonst them.  Y'all Californios need to get in contact with each other and try to start something.  Many of us here have gone to our local SASS/NCOWs clubs and talked them into letting us shoot our GAF weapons at their local matchs.  I know a few of the 5 Dogs folks from my times overseas (Great Care Packages!)  and I'd  think they'd be receptive.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

Amen to that. Ususally after seeing how much fun we have, and that our GAF rifles don't damage their targets, most clubs are quite receptive to allowing a GAF class. I can think of at least 6 clubs that this has worked with. If you ever get the chance to travel it's usually helpful to see how the existing GAF friendly clubs operate.

Thank you for the information and also the 5 dogs creek club.  They are about 250 miles south of me, but I am sure going to put their annual shoot on my schedule for this coming year.

Curly Bear Brown and myself, have started planting seeds here in our area.  This past weekend we got together to shoot in the National Forest.  We shot the revolver target at the prescribed 8 yds.  Another acquaintance showed up and shot for the first time. I think he is hooked.

We used rods with clips on them to hold paper plates with the official targets glued to the plates.  It worked well.  Sitting eating lunch we got to throwing names around for our little group.  In honor of the targets, we decided we should call the new group the "Lollipop Pistolero's"  Since the targets look like lollipops and we currently are only shooting revolvers.  If we get rifles, we can change the name to the "Lollipop  Shootists."

We like the paper punching, we are scouts so, this works really well for us and it might even begin to grow.
