Well ..... I think it's time.  I've saved up my nickels and an Iron Frame Henry has my lust.  I already have all the others, so I think I should finally get my Iron Frame.  Add a Carrier Block from AJ and it should be verry wizz bang!!
Can't wait :)

Go good with your new Wyatt Earp shotgun.

P.S.  There's one for sale over on the SASS wire.  Don't buy it!  The old ones have different bolts, firing pin extensions and some other parts and there aren't any replacements.  I had an old 22" in the safe for years.  The 2" shorter barrel made it balance really nice.  Finally pulled it out a few months ago to convert it to a transitional Henry.  Didn't realize until I had done a lot of work on the receiver that some parts didn't look right.  Now I have what is basically a very expensive wall hanger.

Coffinmaker, a blued Iron Frame or a color case hardened Henry Rifle?

'bout when did the changes appear ?

when planets align...do the deal !

Fox Creek Kid

I heard the "change" was circa. early 2000's but don't quote me. Aldo Uberti died in '99 and Beretta bought them a few years later.

Not sure.  Mine is date coded AZ which is 1990.  Anything after should be 2000 is OK.

My current Brass Frame Military is [BH] 1996
my Iron Frame is [CA] 2006  so I guess I have one of each  :-\

Gonna be a Colour Case Frame.

I'me with Pettifogger.  I don't know exactly when the changes to the internal parts took place.  Essentially Uberti changed all the important parts and stopped making parts for the old (older) guns.  Even earlier they had an odd size Carrier Block.  If you break one of those earlier guns, it stays broke unless you have the services of a very talented and expensive machinist.
I do suggest to the folks that have them, reduce the springs so the guns don't wear out really quick.

The easiest way to tell an old Henry is to drop the lever and then measure the diameter of the firing pin extension.  The old ones are around .393".  The new ones are .352".  The old ones are visibly larger in diameter.

So far ...... Snake Eyes.  Nobody has a .45 Iron Henry :'(

I'm a firearms engineer for a major user of such items.....I'd be out of a job in a hurry if I made such a change....and deservedly so.

On the bright side, there is an opportunity here for an enterprising american company to produce the spares or market an upgrade kit.
Now...if keeping a customer's old Uberti levergun working was just as "hot" as making SS kits, lightweight carriers, etc, etc.....

oh, heck..just drop a $K on a new rifle, right?

Yup.  I've done some extensive R & D work in the past that resulted in some rather nice three dimensional wall decorations that were suitable for framing ::)  Some very expensive experiments.  I try to forego that experience as much as possible.

Anyone need a really nice FULL AUTO 1911??  Was a swell trigger job :o

This one is available in Houston.  I looked at it on Saturday and its a nice one.  The colors are really bright.

If you are going for a blued one, those are a bit more rare.  I have not seen one in a while.

Major 2

There is a blued one now on the SASS wire...could be the one Pettifogger warned of though..

I tried to cut & paste the the link to you Coffinmaker , but your email bounced back  :-\

What exactly is different other than the FP extension?  ???

The bolt itself is different to match the firing pin extension.  At various times the carriers have been different as well as the trigger and sear.

Thanks, Pettifogger.  ;)

Coffin I am selling mine.

I am selling my out Uberti Henry Iron Frame in 45 Colt. These were discontinued two years ago. The rifle is brand new and never fired. The bluing on this frame is absolutely gorgeous. I am asking $925+ Shipping.

Charlie,

I've been holding out for a CCH frame, but ......... that bluing looks awesome.  I gotta think on it for a day.  Of course, it would be easier to cut it for a loading gate ..... how about an "Iron Transitional" gust for giggles ;D
