? Bakail Hammer springs.....

Ho Pards,
I`m in the throws of taming my Bakail DBL. I have followed Howdy Doody and Mohavee Gamblers suggestions and thus far I am really pleased with the results.

One point though has got me a slightly vexed, It is suggested that Rooger Vaquaro hammer springs can be used to replace the Bakail Tank suspension springs!! I have looked on Brownalls site and they offer a Wolff 19lb Reduced power spring for the Vaquaro.

Sooooo.... Do any pards think that they would do the job, or should I get the normal factory jobbies.

PUK,

Normal Factory Ruger springs. Reduced springs may be a mite light for shotgun primers.

Reason I asked, wuz I could not see Std factory Vaquaro hammer springs on Brownalls site!! Musta missed em!! and VTI are hellish regardin P&P to the UK.

Those internal trigger models are neat. No one has ever had an AD with one.

Now I have the bikail that remington sold. I'm getting lite hits on the primers and the gun she no go boom. This can be a problem. The changing of the spring will this fix this problem.

My Pa spent a few years getting his bakail to work....he followed the same guide on Marauders site. He tried regular & extra power Ruger Springs (several sets I recall)....only had the occasional "click"...after all that work.....finally took a different path..but I dunno what. I'm hearing similar stories in this thread.

Yah it really stinks. It a good looking gun but does not work all the time and that realy stinks. I really don't want buy another gun but can't let this gun ruin my times.

Is yours a single or double trigger?

Single trigger the inturnal are the same but the trigger plates are diferant. From what I can tell from the scamatic

Unfortunately the single trigger Baikals are very finicky and very few gunsmiths can get them work work with 100% reliability. If you have the stock hammer springs the problem isn't with the springs, it's with the single trigger mechanism.

How so? The trigger releases the sears. If I pull the triger and hold it down I still get lite hits some times. If I squeeze and release I still get lite hits. So your saying if I took the transfer bar out so I could only fire one barrel. I should not have this problem? I'll give it a shoot and see if I can drop the hammer on some primed blank withte trigger plate off.

Well I'm still haven trouble. I'm going to pull the hole gun apart again and round off all eagdes to see if it just grabbing . If not I'm turning it into a wall hanger.

Update............

Fingers(Thanks pard) very kindly sent me a pair of Vaquaro springs. which I fitted.....
Gun fell open!!! WOW!!!! BUT neither triggers had cocked,
Put the original cocking levers back in gun would hardly open!!

Sooooo. I put it back to my original set up One PD(left) lever and One original lever. Took a deep breath and removed 1/2 a turn on each of the original springs!!!!! .....................yehaw!!! No Double YEHAW!!!

It opens fully resting on spring tension!!!

I`m now in the throws of making what I`m gonna call PUK`s Very own special retainer safety jobbie...... Iffn it works I wil post iffn it dont I wont!!
