I've been slammed busy so haven't posted much but I did find some time to treat myself to a new set of saddle pockets to use this week at the NCOWS Nationals.

I made the pattern by tracing an original set of F A Meanea saddle pockets. The stamping on these is not the exact but is close and the same stamping as I've seen on some other F A Meanea work. I had to make the stamps as I couldn't find any like that. I was in a bit of a hurry to get these done for the Nationals so they are machine stitched and I didn't have the right buckles on hand. I do have another set started that will be an almost identical copy with linen stitching 8tpi and the same buckles and border stamping. I just have to find the time to make the stamp and get the right buckles.

Here they are with the original F A Meanea ones.

Cliff,

If you are doing quantity work, and need hardware like buckles, do you know about "Ohio Travel Bag"? They are wholesale only, but it isn't really difficult to set up an account there. If you are buying stuff by the dozen, they will save you $$$.

Dalton Masterson

Nice bags, Cliff.

Thanks fellas, they worked very well at the nationals for me. They are a good size and design. The way they are angled where they are put together makes them hang very comfortable on your shoulder and hang very nicely on a saddle. I guess Meanea might have known what he was doing :D

Cliff was in my Posse at the NCOWS National's and I got to see these bags in person. They are beautiful! The workmanship, design and finish are first class!

Thanks Johnny, really enjoyed it.
