Bandolero holster construction?

Morning everybody. Going to be another hot and humid day here in southern Kentucky, and lots to do on my day off. I've been looking around ( over morning coffee) here and other sites for photos of antique bandolero shoulder holsters, but am not finding many. I've had one shoulder lower than the other since birth, and modern shoulder holsters tend to slide off, and cause aching due to weight distribution. Never thought much about bandolero holsters until I saw one pictured in a catalog. Looks like one would be a great pleasure to create, and would give me a canvas to practice decoration. Has anyone here made one? Are they comfortable  to carry in the field a full day? Would construction be in several pieces? Not much found on a site search. Thanks. Don

Tallbald, just too make sure everyone is on the same page ... Do you mean "bandolier shoulder holster?"

If so, I have not made one, but I have used one.  Comfort is in direct relationship to the weight of the firearm carried in it.  I find the hips will carry the weight with more comfort than the trapezoid muscle on the top of the shoulder area.  After a while it irritated mine with a heavier firearm and all the ammo.

Yes TW that's, I guess the right spelling. I just spelled it as I had seen it done elsewhere. I hope others pick up on what I'm asking too. Wow. That changes the search results!! thanks, Don

Tallbald I have a concealed weapon lisense so I carry all day long  I use a shoulder rig for a colt 45 or a 1911. If made right , there is no problem with discomfort or sliding. I worked with TW on the design and he made me 2 rigs that are OUTSTANDING both in fit , design and work menship. You might want to ask him for input, KT
Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

KT those are so handsome. I too have my Kentucky CCW, and we have the right to carry open. A single action in a beautiful rig is a sight to behold, and your creations give me inspiration. Comfortable all-day carry for a man of my skeletal make-up is essential in the field. Another holster on my "to do" list, after I make one for my loving wife's shorty Single Six, her NAA Mini, and her Bond Texas Defender. Thanks so much, Don

We are trying to get the open carry here in Texas....at the moment all we have is concealed...but either way I'm packin....

Don't mean to hijack a thread but I hope you guys get that done daddyeaux. Open carry not allowed when concealed is allowed is just dumb. Not that I see a lot of people open carry in Kentucky now that we are allowed to conceal but at least you don't have to worry about getting trouble stirred if your gun accidentally shows.
