I am new to the sport and shot for the first time last night.  I did not have a pistol caliber rifle so I used a friends.  My question is can I use a 22lr in lever action as my pistol caliber rifle.  Thanks

Jefro

Howdy Loc, rifle and pistol must be centerfire at least .32 caliber. Your local club may allow you to use it untill you find one, most folks will let you borrow one. Check out the shooters handbook for more info, Good Luck.
Shooters Handbook
RIFLE CALIBERS
• Must be centerfire of at least .32 caliber and not larger than .45 caliber.
• Must be in a caliber commonly available in revolvers. Examples include, but are not limited
to, .32-20, .32 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .38-40, .44-40, .44 Special, .44
Magnum, and .45 Colt. The only allowed exceptions are the .25-20 and .56-50. No rifle
calibers such as .30-30 or .38-55 are allowed.

Loc,

"Officially" no, but check with your local clubs.  Many local clubs allow a "double duece" category for folks just starting out  so they can use a .22.   Not everyone offers this, but a few do.

By the SASS rules, NO. ;)
Check with your local club.
One big issue with the 22's is the fact most timers will not "hear'em" and it's very hard for spotters to see the hits, BTDT.
