  Saw a pic online of what appears to be a Pettingill D/A with a contraption on it that carries eight, count'em, eight, six shot cylinders. It appears that the device is manually indexed by a modified loading lever rig. It now qualifies as the weirdest device I have ever seen. I was wondering if it is allowed to post the pic in here?

Really neat.  Not a Pettingill though as it has an outside hammer.

Dang, how'd I miss that  :-[ A Butterfield, perhaps? I saw a post on another forum that suggested that it might be a 'Steampunk' prop. I think it could go either way. No, not a Butterfield, the hammer looks familiar, just can't place it.

I don't get it. It's an open top revolver but the cylinders rotate in from the bottom. What holds the gun together?

It would take a whole cow to make a holster for that thing.

Hammer looks like it came from an Allen DA pepperbox.

That's where I recognize the hammer from. Gotta agree with Sir Charles. Looks awfully Steampunk, but, where are the wires and tubing and copper plates etc.? Regardless, looks about as practical as a laser sight on a Brown Bess.
