I have an original Sharps 22 Derringer.  When I purchased the gun it was jammed closed.  I was able to open it and now I need to find out what parts I need.  I think I need the release button only.  I have the lever that holds the barrel shut and the spring that prevents the barrel from slidding off.  I ordered a reproduction release button and a couple other screws that showed in the schematics.  I thought I had it figured out however the parts I received did not look correct.  I guess my question comes down to the following areas.
1)  Are the reproductions and originals different?
2)  Anyone have pictures of the the internals that hold the barrel in place on an original?
3)  Barring all else does anyone know a source of original parts?
4)  Finally are there any good folks that might be able to work on what I have??

Thanks to all that look at the post!  Flattop "Lucky" Leslie

Replica parts don't fit original Sharps Pepperboxes generally.

Try Dixie Gun Works - they sometimes have 'some' original parts, but remember - their spares came from used weapons.

These are easy to work on - I've cleaned and repaired dozens - but I really won't suggest that you fire one, unless you're using CB Caps.

Modern .22 Shorts can be too much for the piece to handle reliably without damage.

Good Luck!
