On an old, tired original Third Model:

1. Anyone have any tricks for rebuilding the stabilizer tip at the bottom of the bolt face?

2. The top of the gate seems to bind on the bolt, yet the toggles look like they're locking the bolt in place. What's up with that?

Item # 1:  Welding and filing or cutting a slot in the bottom of the bolt, weld in a piece of steel and ..... filing.

Item # 2:  No clue.  Normally, the Loading Gate doesn't come close to the Bolt.  It may rub the bottom of the link though.  Without looking at it ............
