Got my 44/40's loaded up for the match and got"s me some 44 cal round ball.  New hammers installed. Remington's are ready . Mule ear Shotgun fodder is loaded in the cart. Even going to take the 38/55 for a little fun after the match.


Waiting for Cactus Cris to make it up and we are headed to Page. YE HAAA

Got some FFG Goex from Cactus to use in the pistols

Garr n T we will be the only Cap and Ball shooters there but we will have fun .

Did you change out your cap and ball hammers?  I am curious because I have been contemplating the possability of this.

Yes  I changed hammers in both guns. And changed the triggers bolt hand ,everything.

Sat will be the first time under a charge. All should go well (i hope) they pop caps great.

Why don't you get your entry in to the Kansas State match at Prince of Pistoleers at Lenexa in June. There will be some smokers there.

UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cactus Cris came up Friday night and we visited then Sat morning wed loaded the truck and headed out to Page. One and 1/2 hour drive. Just 5 minutes in to the drive and wife calls and says hey you forgot your leather. we turned around and headed back to the house. I grabbed the leather bag and off like a herd of turtles .

Got to the range and started unpacking our gear. C R  A  P !!!!!!!!!! Forgot my pistols that I was going to try.Dad Gum it.

Cactus loaned me one of his 58's and I had threw in a Armi San Marco (spelling ?) that Lobo  Blonco had given some years back. I put in Tresco's and had popped caps with it but never fired it. WOW It fired ever round . Not one misfire !!

So I did not get to try my 58's  out but I did get to try out this old 1860 style pistol and have a great day. What fun we had.
I do find the 60 style just a bit harder to load . Seems that loading notch is not very big and you have to roll the ball in while turning the cylinder.

Howdy Mason. I wish I was going with you to Page and shoot with Cactus Cris. Someday. I made W.R. didn't I ?

You know when you get as old as I am, you make check lists and I do, and I check them twice and I still forget something. Good thing cowboys lend you what it takes to get through a match, that's for sure.

I am headin' off this weekend for a match in my old stompin' grounds of Sacramento area. I better check my list twice. I am going to try a new bullet in my ROAs. It is a 200 gr and I am anxious to make some smoke and hopefully a few dings too.
