There is a Chinese company, HUNDI Corp., using the name Kirst Konverter.....This is a SCAM and any converters made by them are counterfits and a Patent infringement

Only buy Kirst Konverters from authorized Kirst dealers.

Buffalo Bros

Big Lube

If you are unsure if a dealer is selling authentic Kirst product please call 254-248-0663

We will not honor warrenties on counterfit converters or work on guns with counterfit converters installed

I would suggest boycotting all Chinese goods...these people are not our friends!

If the steel in the various Chinese KA-BAR (knife) knockoffs is any indication, their conversion cylinders will blow up in short order.

I will definitely not buy anything that violates Kirst patents.  However, if we boycott all Chinese goods we'll be standing around naked with no cell phones, no TVs, no computers, etc.  Unfortunately, the bulk of consumer products sold here are made there.  Sad situation.

bedbugbilly

First off - thank you for the notification and I'm truly sorry that this is going on.  Just one more reason (of many) to dislike what is going on with internation trade.  As one gentleman pointed out - if we boycotted all Chinese products, we'd be standing around buck naked.  A sad state of affairs for sure.  That being said . . . . I'm more curious as to who the #%^&@#*  are that are importing these things?  And better yet, who is peddling them?  Those are the ones to bombard with letters of disapproval and complaint and they are the ones who should first be boycotted.  "Peer Pressure" can be a great thing at times.   To me, these people rank just as low as those out thedr making up counterfeit Colt boxes, labels and other things such as that and then trying to pass them off as the "real" thing.  They need to be called to task for it - and it never ceases to amaze me how low some folks will sink to make a buck off of someone else's hard work.  Again - thanks for the bulletin and I hope someone will post the joker's who are peddling them - boycott whatever they're selling and put 'em out of business.  Just my 2 cents worth . . . .

Raven

At this point we do not believe any converters have been imported. We have been informed that they (HUNDI Corp) are using the Kirst Konverter name and we believe there could only be one reason for that!
We would like everyone to be aware that we will not EVER have our product made in China! Kirst Konverters are proudly made in the USA, always have been, always will be!

I know we can't really boycott all Chinese products. I just wish those SOB's in Washington would quit selling us out to the Chinese!

I wish they would quit selling us out in general. >:(  I just got done paying my taxes.  Might as well have dumped a bushel of money in the toilet and flushed it.

But, flushing your money would accomplish nothing. By paying taxes, you're supporting wonderful pro-American tax-payer-funded groups like ACORN, NPR and the ACLU!  ::)

Yeah, maybe flushing it's a better idea...   >:(

PS - Thanks for the head's up Raven. No one here will support this scam.

bedbugbilly

Raven - thanks and I hope you'll keep us all updated on this.  And, I agree with you all on "Washington selling us out" - alll of what has been going on has convinced me of one thing . . . . every politician should serve two terms . . . the first one for what they were elected for . . . the second term in jail.  What more can be said?   :-[

Good to know.  Thanks for posting.

AH My  Dear Raven -
(pm sent)
happy to help in any small way.

If the counterfeit  pattern follows form, it is more likely some poor quality ripoffs may come first from India, (probably made of old British Railway Track ) from a tiny neighborhood foundry/shop set amongst houses (which pollutes the negihborhood like a steel mill) patterned after the Khyber Pass Weapons Works.

There is hope on the Chinese front:
Chinese counterfeiters most often will make a blatant inferior ripoffs for local consumption  of larger market items (like cell phones).
Due to weapon import restrictions they may not be able to get bored-thru cylinders into the states legally.

However as the Chinese continue to produce Chicom SKS,  1911's, and Cowboy related shotguns it is possible those companies may try to illegally infringe upon or circumnavigate your patents. We will keep a watchful eye on them and further, we can encourage Those Who Import Chinese Cowboy Firearms that it would be in their best interests to avoid that area, lest they become acquainted with
Lawyer J. Noble Dagget ....

........................

I've searched the web using bing & google & have not found the "Kirst Konverter" used by Hundai as reported.

I have found several products described as "Kirst", "Conversion" and/or "kit", being used to decribe what apears to be an automotive engine cylinder conversion kit. I haven't found a direct link even showing these as being manufactured in china...but they are intended for use on Hyundai engines. My educated guess is these cylinders are some type of powerplant upgrade for the street-racer kids working to turn their shoebox into a 100mph shoebox.

I'm old-school & still drive my V-8 powered 1970 Firebird that my folks handed down to me as my first car.

So, I see no evidence of using either the trademark name or patent features.  BTW, it's no big trick to work around patent features on products....using a trade-mark name is quite another....I doubt even a US company would be that dumb...let alone the chinese.

Slim,

Read the above posts from Prof. Marvel and you will understand what is happening.

As far as companies being stupid enough to infinge on Patents and or copy a product Uberti did just that with the initial offering of the Remington conversion. When we called them on it they went home and screwed the "conversion ring" to the recoil shield to by pass our Patent. The parts can no longer be used to convert a percussion gun to cartridge. We would have been happy to licence them to produce a copy, but the Italians don't seem to think that way.

IMO Patent infringement, Copy right infringement etc. happens all the time >:(

Jamie

Hey, any chance you can give me this Lydia's number or address?  I want to check and see if they sell insurance to intellectual property that has not as of yet been thought of by me, but which may in point of fact enter my head at some future and economically pertinent moment wherein I might be able to make my fortune by suing some arrogant individual who had the gall to think my thought before I did, and thereby deprived me of the financial remuneration which by all rights is clearly my own to claim.  Therein.
As a minister with an e-mail address that starts with rev... I used to get at least two e-mails a day from undoubtedly well meaning  bank employees around the world who had access to multi-million dollar accounts belonging to dead people.  I could get my share by simply giving them my account number which is... oops, boy, I almost fooled myself there... and they would transfer it in, and then I could send them a portion for their trouble.  Now I don't get those anymore, and I sure feel stupid for passing up so many great opportunities.  (Literally at least a couple thousand over the course of two or three years.)  Mayhaps I should finally bite the bullet on this one... what do you suggest?
Jamie  ::)

Raven

Also for those reading HUNDAI it is in fact HUNDI Corp.
Not the same!
And Hundi Corp. may not exist, it is just a scam to get us to register domain names in china.
