Were there leather gloves available in the old west as opposed to gauntlets?

Certainly - gloves have been around since Man first figured out how to sew leather, but they're not quite like those you find at Tractor's Supply.

They were 'generally' better-fitted, though many, many were sold through the mail order houses and Dry Goods stores and you took what you could get.
