Legality of Shoulder Stock on an 1860 Cartridge Conversion

I'm not lawyer but have researched NFA regulations because I own NFA regulated items. The way I understand it is that if you have the shoulder stock AND a percussion gun it fits on, then you are fine. However, if all you have is a shoulder stock and a cartridge conversion revolver and the two 'could' be assembled together, they 'could' get you for constructive intent. I'll let you work out what you would have to do to get prosecuted.

Same applies to everything else. You're not going to get prosecuted for having AR rifles and AR pistols, because you have an extra buttstock laying around. If ALL you had were pistols and a buttstock, it 'could' happen.
