Wishbone from Rawhide, I know he was the cook, but it still counts don't it?  After all the Lone Ranger and Matt Dillion weren't cowboys. ;D

And they say TV and movies don't influence kids. ::)

If you have the Starz package it comes with the western channel. They play Gene Autry movies from 12 noon on Sundays. These are all remastered. Now personally I wasn't a fan of any of the singing cowboys.

My first was Gun Smoke on the radio and the Cisco Kid on TV. Later it became a bunch of TV westerns from Rawhide to Bonanza.

I am a bit younger.   I watched Wild Wild West reruns and enjoyed Alias Smith and Jones.  Also really enjoyed How the West was Won series when I was in grade school.   It was James Arnes and Bruce Boxleitner.

Stu Kettle

Festus, Matt Dillon's deputy, & Little Joe Cartwright, but I ain't 50 yet.

French Jack

Lone Ranger, Hoppy, Lash Larue, Matt Dillon (William Conrad), Red Ryder, then Gene and Frog, Roy and Trigger.  Does Sgt. Preston and King count?????    all of the above on radio.

Most of those listed are not Cowboys.  The crew from Rawhide were cowboys and maybe Roy Rodgers.  There rest were lawmen.

I know, I am being too picky.  That is why I prefer the term Western Action Shooting.  I ain't no cowboy.

I am not sure what Festus was, but he was one of my favorites.  He grew up on a ranch south of Las Animas, CO.  I am here to tell you that is hard country.  Ken Curtis (Festus) was a cowboy.  The other 2 favorites were Ben Johnson and Slim Pickens.  They were real cowboys who made good movies.

Yes I've been watching How the West was Won series every Sunday morning on Starz Western Channel also lately. It is a good series for sure. Didn't see much of the Wild Wild West at the time as my job interfered with it but did catch some of it in reruns.

Heck, even after copying and pasting  I still can't bring it up and when I go direct to the NCOWS page it doesn't show the minutes.

BTW, Danny Ellison is no longer the Territorial Rep for Hat Creek.  It is Paul Jacobson.

Now he was a real cowboy; on and off the screen. (A wrangler actually.)
