Hi pards.  I got a lead on a brass framed Remmie that a guy wants to peddle.  The only info I have on it is that it is a brass framed Remington - supposed to be about 28 years old and never shot.  The price is right on it regardless of what caliber it is - .36 or 44 - doesn't really matter to me.  My question is - who made FIE or who is/was FIE.  Quality?  Problems?  Anything?  Any input on them would be appreciated.  Many thanks!   :)

FIE was an importer in Florida.  They imported all kinds of guns from different makers so it is kind of hard to tell who made your Remington (assuming that is what it is) without looking at the stampings on the gun.  Quality, problems?  They were cheap brass frame guns.  Some were good, some not so good.

Thanks for your input - it's greatly appreciated.  I did a little searching and pretty much came up with the same in regards to quality.  The price is good, but, it would be like buying a pig in a poke.  He says he doesn't know anything about it other than he's had it for about 28 years.  Shot or unshot . . . if there's a "sometimes quality" issue, I'm going to pass on it.  There's too many good ones out there looking for  a good home.  Many thanks again.   :)
