Yes I received mine the other day, the May-June issue for 2010, a little behind if you ask me, I know they had problems and I understand this. What I would like to see is forget the other issues and start getting them updated, here it is March of 2011, I would like to see these in advance, when you receive it it is outdated, the shoots etc etc etc. Lets get current and try to send out the Shootist in advance and let everyone know about shoots in the current mag ahead of time instead of 8 months behind.

Ok, I'm off my soap box now, this is just a view from my saddle, take it or leave it

Shucks,

I was trying to get a copy of Books O'Toole's article on Top Break Pocket Pistols.

Called the number on the website ... was told it was 'Joan' and leave a message ... I did and never got a return call or voicemail.

Was told to contact Dave Scott or Bob Chenault ... and neither were listed under the SASS member list by those names.

My email is listed on my profile ... I was planning to join, but am afraid that I don't know the secret handshake to get in ...*S*

So, if someone whould find themselves in ownership of the article and can print it out, I would love to find it attached to a PM or email ... *S*

Wadd, Joan is my wife. When I was secretary she had the NCOWS Vonage phone transferred to her cell.   She is currently at a retreat where there isn't a cell phone signal.   Last month my last term expired and Bob Chenault, (French Jack at CAS City) replaced me but we haven't yet gotten the phone switched yet, (still trying to figure out how)

Please send me a PM with what information you desire.  Also send me your mailing address  and I will send you a copy of a past issue and a brochure.  I for one would love to have you as a NCOWS member.  I have followed your journey as a volunteer and I am impressed by the efforts you put forth in getting things correct.

Wadd,

C'mon in, the water's fine!

In several posts you have confused SASS when asking about NCOWS. While there are many NCOWS members who hold dual membership in both organizations, there are differences.

NCOWS members walk boldly in the light of day and sure-footed in dark of night, keeping faith with our forefathers by protecting the paths of truth that we'll pass on to the future generations. We are quicker to smile, our eyes glow a mite warmer with memories, and our nostrils keenly flare when taking in that bracing draught of clear, uncompromising freshness of Fact over Fiction.

SASS are the other ones. ;) ;D :)

Will Ketchum,

You are too kind ... it is I who benefitted from all your expertese .... I didn't even know what a Californio was until y'all took me on that exhaustive thread ...

River City John,

You do a good recruiting spiele .... all you missed was the wanton women and flowing liquor ... LOL

Dr Bob,

This is all kind of new to me ... don't know if there is even any NCOWS in the Sacramento Area ....I'll have to check out californiagunslingers.com ......
