Very neat frontier conversion of a Colt 1860 Army. 34" rifled barrel. Bore has strong rifling but is dark. Serial number is 34944 and is numbered on frame and trigger guard. All work was done during period of use. Very nicely done Colt 1860 Army Rifle Conversion.

Very interesting an 1860 Colt Army Kentucky rifle with nice wood! I wonder how strong that wedge holding the long barrel to the frame is?

Niederlander

Makes you wonder how nice the rifle they took apart to make it was.  Someone must have been pretty desperate to have a repeating rifle!
"There go those Nebraskans, and all hell couldn't stop them!"

Tho I too think it is cool, I also think some frontier gunsmith had way too much time on his hands. Still a nice one of a kind. ;D

One would HAVE to support the thing with an arm out along the forestock and, every now and again, one would regret it.

My first thought as well, followed by "now who is going to mate a Pietta 60 frame and a Dixie Kentucky rifle?"
