Four-Eyed Buck

Forty, there's some spacing problems in that last segment, I remember one during the conversation with the Corporal on the log. There's some more in there too, but I can't give you the exact placings. Space is in the wrong place, moving a letter over into the next word.............Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

Capt. Hamp Cox

Ya still got my tension, Rod, an' that ain't easy since tha span aint long atall mosta tha time.  Only found this ta call ta yore tension.

"We picked Cory Skabelund, a Tennessee schoolteacher, to be the group historian as soon a she mentioned that he thought we should have one."

Four-Eyed Buck

That's one of them spacin' problems I was referrin' to , Hamp. Shift the space and letter and then it'll read right. Just a keyboard/ arthuritis finger problem, I guess........Buck 8) ::) :o ;) ;D

People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Capt. Hamp Cox

Hey Buck,

We know his lips move when he reads, whatta ya wanna bet they also move when he types? :D

Capt. Hamp Cox

Another good segment, Rod.  If you intended for Lincoln's assassin to be identified as "Boone", the only thing I found was "...and patching up out gear...".

Forty Rod

Thanks for the save.  "Boone" was intentional...communications by word of mouth, doncha know.

Joyce (AnnieLee)

The spacing problem comes from the brain getting ahead of the fingers, kinda like jacking a round from a rifle or slip hammering a revolver. I used to do it all the time. It can be embarrassing when you are meaning to type "that it."

:D

I really like this.. getting ready to print it off.
After more is completed, I'll pass it to some of my family members.. who will readstuff ..
if they have paper in hand, but won't look at a computer screen to do it.

Thanks Forty.

I stickied the Cavannaugh thread so it doesn't disappear while Forty is working on his other project.

Nitpicky comments:

From the September 27th posting (reply 10) :

"We traded a small bag of coffee beans and an ax for a beautifully tanned cowhide suitable for saddle repair, belts, holsters and the  like." There's an extra space between "the" and "like."

"He laid out new holsters fro several of us using a pattern he'd seen some of our Mexican boys make." Should be "for" not "fro."

"It was also open at the top instead of closed by a flap, and much easier and faster to draw a gun from." Suggestion: "It was also open at the top instead of closed by a flap, which made it much easier and faster to draw a gun."

September 27, reply 11:

"The two weeks from the Cumberland gap to Bowling green passed uneventfully for the most part." Should be Green, not green.

"Owned a bunch  of slaves, forty or fifty mules, some mighty fine horses, wagons, and houses." Extra space between "bunch" and "of."

"My Marry, she always says there's somebody for ever'body." I think her name is Mary. :D

November 14, reply 14:

You've got some runaway periods in this one.
"This is my Mary.", he announced proudly as he handed the first to me. Should be: "This is my Mary," he announced proudly as he handed the first to me.

Charlie Lee is six, an' this is John Keyser  He just turned four. Missing a period between "Keyser" and "He".

I thought you two weren't friends.", I said.   Should be:     I thought you two weren't friends," I said.

The next night Jim Taylo came over and told us, "I'll be on my way now.  I reckon you all will be movin' out soon, too."  I think his name is Taylor, not Taylo.  :P

"I hoped I would some day see him again."

If you kill Jim Taylor or his family, I may have to throttle you.

See? Told you they were nitpicky!
