I read on here that some indiviuals have the possibility of giving a little history for where a Spencer was originally issued.  I have model 1865 SN 7867 with a stabler cut off.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi BJ,

Sent you an Email requesting photo.  I'm not sure I can give you any Civil War history for your Spencer.  Please read the included photos for additional information about 1865 Spencers with the Stabler Cut-Off.

Model 1865 Spencers were sold to civilians in the US, probbaly went west with them, or were also sold to foreign governments.  I'm sure members of SSS will offer their opinions on your Spencer.  Check back for more info.  Additional photos of the receiver area would be great to look at.

Thanks for the reply.  Getting a little history on this gun makes me proud to own it
