Hello!
I'm thinking of ordering a couple of items and want to know what Blockade Runner's quality and service is like.  Thanks!

I've bought stuff from them over the years (cavalry blanket, frock coat, shirts, etc.).  The quality has been uniformly good and in some cases outstanding.  I've "fingered" a lot of goods on their racks.  If I were intersted in a Civil War or IW rig I'd look at them first.

I visit the store anytime I'm in the Nashville area.  I've never ordered from them off the web; all purchases have been "face to face."  Nice people, very knowledgeable.

My view from the saddle.   :)

I purchased a jacket, couple of kepis, a wall tent and sabre from them about 10 years ago face to face. Finally broke the sabre about two years ago. Over the years I have bought 2 more tents along with a whole slew of other stuff via internet. At one point I needed a second tent in a hurry and a telephone call was all it took. Great people to work with and their stuff is always top notch. If they do have anything second rate, they tell you about it on their website before you purchase and usually discount it significantly.

Keep in mind that some other Sutlers sell alot of items made in Pakistan.
Andy Fulks of Fall Creek sells mostly american made items.

I have ordered from them on line as recent as Dec 2010 and everything arrived in good order.  I also ordered the cavalry gauntlets and they are excellent quality.  I just ordered the cavalry trousers and spurs two days ago.

I just received a Mechanic's cap from them. Black with leather bill. Excellent quality. It was made up for my order and came out of Kentucky, I believe.

dont you beleive it your cap more likely came out of some back st in delhi, then transported  on a donkey to the wharf then throw,n on the the next passing ship, and for gauntlets if you pay 35 of 40 for them there made in india, from the hide of some stray dog, or a broken down donkey,  if you want decent gauntlets you will pay a $100  for them!  trading post place has them

Actually liten, they contacted me to explain that the item was not in stock and it would take a week to ten days to get it from the person in Kentucky who makes them up for them.
Sorry you had a bad experience with your gauntlets.
Did you ask them to correct the problem, based on what you had received?

I've ordered last year by internet a couple of items by Blockade Runner, like cavalry gauntlets, buff sashes, belt buckle and buttons. All came in good order and very quick. Before I had asked by fcsutler, but I've never had an answer. If I need more I'll order by Blockade Runner for sure.

I bought a pair of their gauntlets out of a "$10 bin" and they are just fine for a pair of $10 gauntlets.  If I had paid $40 for them I'd likely be disapointed.

A lot of the stuff on their racks does not have any sort of manufacturer's tag.  I asked about this and they said they have stuff from a lot vendors, including domestic "mom & pop" sewing operations.  No surprise, there; TN may be one of the few places left where that sort of industry still exists.  No matter where they might have come from they were a good value for the dollar.
