Dead I

Well I'm glad you made that clear, I could have never figured it out on my own. ::)

Would you have felt so good about it if you would have been fighting against part of your family like many did?

Del-co; you are not being clear.  I do not feel "so good" about the War at all.  What I am saying is that it was fought for reasons that at the time made sense to them. I know people in my family the uncles of people in my family who died in that War. While these men are long gone, I cannot argue with their reason for joining and fighting.  We were living in Indiana at the time, and three of my great great uncles  joined up.  Two died, one in Andersonville.

We try to discover what they were thinking when they joined up, but I don't think we really know.  It was probably the patriotic thing to do with the young men of the time.  Did government break down?  I think so.  But were the reasons to fight correct?  I just don't know.

What I am alluding to are the nearly 1 million people living as slaves in this country.  Some do piece work, some clean houses, most are chained to beds to service individuals.  Whether picking cotton or picking up clothes, they are/were owned and forced labour.

I'm as clear as rat turds in a sugar bowl, I see folks arguing back and forth about how one side was good, the other side was bad.  Add all the widow dressing you want, it's not needed here.

This one is done. Let's be a little more civil.
No pun intended.
