its been hunting and trapping season and that is my main passion, so everything else gets pushed to the side during this time of year.
but i have managed to get a couple of holsters done.
the first holster was done for a good friend of mine.  for a stainless steel ruger vaquero. my open top is in it for the pictures. dyed in black wal nut hulls and the rubbed with neats foot oil and  olive oil and topped off with geniue bear greese

the next holster i made for my dads 65th birthday for a ruger black hawk. i used the same pattern as above from will ghormley but had to modify it a little. it is finished in olive oil and rubbed with geniune bear grease as well

i think dad liked it

thanks for the kind words yall. as yall can see dad loved his holster and the one i did for my friend he gave to his son for a christmas gift, he said the boy was speechless and now sleeps with it. it was hard to say god bye to that one as it fit my open top so well

santee there is a fine art to getting a bear to give up his grease, but i find it easier to trade for it when i can ;D

Nice work Billy, and nice picture too. You dad looks like he's in great shape for 65, and a lot of us here are stinkin close to his age!

thanks jd.  i hate to toot my dad's horn but,dad is in good shape. heck i think he's in better shape than i am. he works out 3 days a week and walks a mile 2 days a week with a 20 pound back pack on his back. he broke his leg a couple years back after he retired and had trouble getting over it. when he got up and going again he got religious about working out and it shows
