I've read with great interest the information gained from the members who own the SRS serial number books. If I could trouble you for any guesstimate about my Spencer carbine it would be much appreciated. My serial number is 7720 and the gun is marked Spencer Repeating Rifle Co. Boston Mass. It is the standard carbine with M1865 stamped on the barrel and the saddle ring. I can find no inspector marks on the stock. Thanks  JW

Hi Jack,

If your Spencer Carbine has M1865 on the receiver then the attached photo will be of some help to you.  These Spencer Carbines were never used in the Civil War.
