It looks as if winter time is here.
Platte Valley Gunslingers in Grand Island is done for the year.
Flat Water Shootists in Grand Island are done for the year.
The Millbrook Wranglers in Hill City, KS are still going, weather dependent.

Who else is still shooting through the winter?

I thought Flat Water shot year round since they have an indoor ragne to use if the weathers bad.  Did they change that ?
I thought about trying to go next month.

They did that until this year. They had too few shooters last winter to make it viable.
I wish they did still go year round via the indoor. Its fun (and warm).

I think NTR and maybe Blue River have winter events like banquets and museum outings, but no shooting.

Winter is the time to get out to the Gun show and spread the "goodnews" of CAS
Maybe go somwhre as a group dressed ready for a shoot and get people talking.
Have a cowboy christmas party.
Do a history demo at a school or comunity center or service club.
Meet at the range or somewhere once a month jsut to eat and socialize.  That's half the fun of CAS.
Talk to other clubs and work out any possible schedule conflicts.
Invite other clubs to any events.

Your right BowView. What we really need to do is get more Nebraskans shooting. We have 230 some SASS registered shooters in Nebraska as of last year. I bet that 100 of them shoot actively, if that.

It would also be nice to get more participation here on CAS City Nebraska. Its a nice way to get info to each other, and cuss and discuss.

As far as gun shows go, I plan on sitting at the local ones anyway with my leather gear, and promoting SASS too.

maybe there are more of us than we think getting info here.  I've been reading these forums for a long time, just never signed up to join in the cussin' and discussin' till now.

Eastern Nebraska at Louisville has their last SASS match in Oct.
November conflicts with opening weekend, usually.  And then no SASS all winter.
They will start up again in April on 2nd Sundays.

From our home there are 2 clubs [that are close enough to venture out to] that shoot all winter.
Capitol City Cowboys of Topeka, KS @ 100 miles
Flat Water Shootists of Grand Island, NE @ 180 miles.  OR SO I THOUGHT!!!
