One can experiment with various reading glasses which are sold at most Wal-Green stores or CVX pharmaces. They are very very cheap ($8 to $25 dollars) compared to getting a doctors prescription for your eyes.

QuoteHow do you sight-challenged folks handle this problem?
Folks, it works for me and as a suggestion:
*  I had a pair of polarized sunglasses made for my last prescription.  They were the plastic lens with bifocals that were 10mm high instead of the normal reading 8mm.  I had the infinity Rx adjusted for a focal plane of 24 to 32".  With a Hadley cup, they worked get.
So the new prescription is instead of polymer plastic - is glass.  The front sight is much more vivid.  Also, polarized glass has a better reflectivity capability to allow a clearer sight picture - even way out there at 1000yds

    HIYA....

I talked to the folks at wallyworld optical and they told me that polyarbonate lenses in these would run me 65 bucks!!
That was for a single vision lens.
With the poly type of lens your eyeball will be protected from the unexpected.
With being in the military I have no idea what insurance would bring this cost to, which I think is a hoaks anyhow just like auto windshield's they give you a different price if your making an insurance claim...

I have basically the same problem with one exception is I lost my left eye at 12 years old completely. Now I had pretty good vision up till my late 40's when I needed reading glasses. Today I have the same problem you guys do but even worse with pistols as short range (10 to 20 yards). I've messed with several different things with no luck. I'm not going to try the super focus glasses I've seen on ads on TV. Don't know how it will work out but need a new eye glass prescription first which I will get in the next couple of weeks.
