Pete, got to fooling around with it and by golly, it is a six-shooter!

Steel Horse,
I'm hoping this likes 158gr.
I suppose I could order a few of the .360 125gr for testing.

I sure would - they'd be a perfect fit to the published (everywhere except Lee, perhaps) dimensions.

I also have some Big LubesTM in .38 sized .360 coming from Mark Whyte to play with. These the 125 grain.

One of the reasons I like the smaller boolits is the reduced recoil due to the laws of physics.  My Pocket Pistol in 38 S&W was made before 1905 (near as I've been able to find) and I feel like it has served its time already, so I'm gonna feed it easy loads - 'tho I DO fill the case with 3F, so they're NOT mouse phart loads.  The 15 or 20 factory loads I've fired out of it were digested with no trouble or bad signs, however.  I just want to give the old piece as much of a break as I can - no need to push the issue!

I've tried 100 , 125, 147 & 158 grain bullets...as a result, think the 125's are the most suitable for the .38 S&W, with black or even smokeless for use in the breaktop revolvers. All will shoot adequate at 5-10 yards, but I find the 125 grain is better for longer range (the guns will shoot well out to and beyond 50 yds). The 125 also allows a bit more velocity (especially with BP) and also keeps allows decent velocity/pressure while using smokeless. Bullets size?? well, I've used .358 diameter with good result....my latest mold purchased is designed for the 9mm pistol & I use these bullets unsized.

Thanks for the info, Montana Slim and Steel Horse.
I've decided to start with the 125gr from the get go for this little gem as I don't want to risk beating it up. Mr. Whyte suggested the same sage advice.

Great minds think alike.

And I get lucky sometimes, too!
