Got an NRA catalog in the mail and in it saw that they had the new Dennis Adler book on the life and career of John Bianchi. It said that they had a limited number of copies signed by John Bianchi and the author. I promptly ordered a copy and it arrived today. This is an incredible book for anyone interested in western guns, gunleather and western screen and TV stars. It is a hardcover coffee table style book containing page after page of color photos of guns and gun rigs as well as the incredible career of John Bianchi. I can't recommend this book too highly. A bonus for me is the signed plate in the front pages which reads NRA Edition, 1 of 500. I must have gotten the first one out of the box. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Slowhand Bob

I would seal that big boy up, set it aside for the grandkids and order another fer reading!  Great deal, Bianchi has probably influenced modern leather craft as much as any individual in recent years.

You might try some patience.

All of those Adler books seem to find their way to the remainder table at Barnes and Noble's before too long.

I went ahead and ordered mine, as me and Old Top have some history with John. Top was a Boy Scout with him. And I knew him when he was a Monrovia cop. (in fact when my mom worked at a Winchell's he showed her a holster one night on his break and asked her if she would buy it...she said she didn't have any need of it but it was beautiful...he was just starting his "garage" shop.

As for waiting to buy it, be reminded about the "Tombstone, Guns and Gear" book...it is now going for $800 new $500 used on Amazon and about the same on eBuy....So, if interested go for it..

I am lookin foward to mine.

Got my book today, and all I can say is WOW!!!

One fine book. Stuff I forgot years ago, like the ad with Bianchi wearing a bond style tux, and under it he is concelaling about 15 guns or more...
A section of his Museum and stuff in it.....Pix of his Histographs
A section of the Leather crafting "class" they do in Wickenburg, with pix of the holster making process..including pix of Matt Witacker...and even a chapter on Matt and his own business...

I sprang for the limited editon and it was well worth it. autygraphed and in a sleeve to protect it...

Me and Top are gonna do some reminscing on the road this weekend cuz I am bring it along..

see ya all on Sunday or Monday.

What you may not know about the Biography....

All of the proceeds after cost are being pledged to the NRA by Blue Book Publishing and John Bianchi.

If you order the book through Frontier Gunleather, You can get it signed to you by John Bianchi.

The book is FILLED with great photographs of the Frontier Museum John built. (the Frontier Museum became the core collection for the then-1983-just starting Autry Museum at Griffith Park. This story is in the book.

Being privileged to know John for the last 10 years, I can attest that most of the book is the truth ;D

The jokes on me. A friend got his copy and it too says "1 of 500". I guess they mean "There are 499 more just like  yours."

Kid Cavalier

There are four different versions of the Bio

full grain Leather slipcased less than 50 printed

Deluxe slipcased 100 printed

1 of 500 with autograph plate

regular retail version with no signature plate

The books do not have individual serial numbers.

John Bianchi will be at the January Antique Arms show at the Riviera in Las Vegas, and at the SHOT Show.  Just look for the Blue Book Publications booth/tables.

Never had the pleasure and honor of meeting John Bianchi, but I know Dennis and he has been kind enough to include photos of several rigs I made for him in his previous books.  I haven't seen this new book yet, but I know it will be a stunning piece of artwork.  Best to both of them!

You guys talked me into it. I was at the Tulsa Gun Show this weekend and picked up my copy. Very nice book. Such a shame about the Gene Autry Museum deal.  Great job on the book, I highly recommend!
